Musical Entertianer

Kynzie was being quite the entertainer this evening. One of her newest skills is dancing. Often times she will dance in circles while flailing her arms around, though I haven't been able to catch that move on video! She just loves music- making it, dancing to it and listening to it! Sometimes she even dances while she sings her own song.

Lemon

Kynzie was being quite the handful when we went out to breakfast. I figured after the first taste of this lemon that she'd be done, but she kept on eating it!

Carrots

Although it looks as if she's going to eat those carrots, after this bite, she will have refused to even look at them! She seems to like most vegetables but no matter what I do, I cannot get her to eat carrots. I've tried pureed carrots, shredded raw carrots, yellow baby carrots and orange baby carrots!

"Ick! No carrots for me, Mom!"

An Apple A Day!

I was giving Kynzie apple slices for a snack today and accidently left the apple sitting on the table. When she grabbed it, I was hesitant, but decided to see how she would do with it. She did a great job scrapping it with her teeth and loved eating such a big thing all by herself!

Trip To The Coast

To celebrate my first Mother's Day, we planned a (very) short trip to the coast with some friends whose baby is the same age as Kynzie. Our little vacation didn't start until mid-morning on Sunday and we were home by 6:00 p.m. Monday. We reserved yurts, which are small round cabins with heat, at Beverly Beach State Park in Newport. But our first stop was Tillamook, to see the cheese factory.

It was Sunday so they weren't operating the packaging department, which is the interesting one to watch.

We were at the cheese (and ice cream) factory, so it was obvious that indulging in ice cream was unavoidable. Kynzie was being quite fussy, and although she didn't really eat much of Ryan's ice cream, she sure loved digging those top two teeth that are coming in into it.

After the factory we finally arrived at our destination. The beach was too cold to hang out for long so we only spent about 20 minutes there. Kynzie seemed to enjoy it though!

It wasn't too long before she had a hand full of sand! She squished it in between her fingers for a few minutes before I washed it off.

The beautiful Oregon Coast.

Kynzie and I were sharing an "Applesauce To Go" at our campsite.

On the steps of our yurt. We stayed in "Albatross."

We went to breakfast. Kynzie kept trying to feed Kiev and he looked scared. After our meal we headed to the Oregon Coast Aquarium.

We rented a double stroller and the babies wouldn't stop touching and grabbing eachother. We gave them both crackers and it was a battle to keep them from taking them from eachother.

Kynzie seemed a little confused by the touching exhbit, but Ryan was eager to explore it with her.

Kynzie seemed mezmerized by this tank, where you could stand up in the middle of it.

She wanted to grab those fishies!

Daddy was telling her all about the sea creatures!

Ryan wanted to give Kynz a better view.

This was in the "Passages of The Deep" exhibit, which is a tunnell through an enormous tank. The babies seemed somewhat interested in the floor part of the tank.

Happy Mother's Day!

Just Another Day At The Park

Kynzie & I went to the park for a little while today and it seemed to be the perfect cure for a day filled with fussiness (I think she might be getting ready to cut some teeth).

Checkin' out the bark dust...

As usual, she found herself a big stick!

She was investigating her shadow.

She kept gravitating toward the pavement.

"Look Mommy, I found a leaf!!"

"Ooh, that pavement sure looks fun!"

She found the play structure and went straight for it! Sometimes I just can't believe how adventurous she is. Please excuse the video choppiness!

On the way home, we stopped at Fred Meyer. She had been getting a little sick of being strapped in the stroller so I bought her this little toy for a dollar. She sure had fun with it!

So much fun that she fell asleep and was still holding onto it!

Shoe Baby!

Kynzie was being quite hilarious. She loves playing with my shoes, and found a particular interest in these yellow ones today.

Storytime!

I took Kynzie to TinyTots Storytime at the library this morning. It's supposed to be for babies a year and older, but I thought she'd be right on track with kids that age, and she was! I figured BookBabies would probably bore her.

She ran and ran around that room!

The librarian handed out shakers and Kynzie shook and shook and shook!

Then she passed out books for us to read. Kynzie didn't sit still enough for me to read it to her- she wanted to read it all by herself.

And then there were bins full of toys! Kynzie always goes straight for the balls!
