Fourth Of July

We went to Fort Vancouver for fireworks...they claim to have "the biggest show this side of the Mississippi." Ryker stayed with Grandpa and we were excited to take Kynzie. I even showed her videos of fireworks before we went so that she would know what to expect and not be scared. The last shuttle from the mall left at 8:30 and the show started at 10:00. Since Kynzie's bedtime is normally around 8:30, we had a pretty tired kid on our hands. As soon as we got there she started running one million miles per hour....after all, she didn't want to fall asleep. She even got to eat some ice cream which is out of the ordinary for her. What a treat!

Kynzie loves riding on Daddy's shoulders. But Daddy's shoulders don't care for it too much.

It was only a brief moment before she got back up and started running again.

Ryan held Kynzie up so she could see all the excitement. He had told her before to "not be scared", so once the show started she said over and over again "not scared, not scared." I'm not sure she understands what "scared" means.

This $5 light toy was well worth the price. She thought it was so neat.

Overall, we had a pretty good time, but didn't make it home until nearly midnight. We were all exhausted. Keeping up with Kynzie was quite a handful. We've officially decided not to do the fort again until the kids are old enough to handle staying up so late, and not run around like crazy uncontrollable little monkeys!

New Outside Toys

Kynzie really likes her new bubble mower. Funny thing is, I don't know that she even noticed the bubbles. She likes the sound it makes when you push it. Unfortunately shortly after I opened it and brought it outside I had to put it away because it was causing fights. Must be an awesome toy!

Mommy: "Kynzie, watcha doin?"

Kynzie: "I'm swiddding Mommmmy!!"

(She answers with a "duh" attitude)

Although there's plenty to do outside, our little artist wanted to color.

Zoo Trip

We rode the train. We would see an animal for a very short period of time and Kynzie would get upset, crying "more animals!"

She really loves the "fishes."

She had a lot of fun playing in the sandbox. Overall it was a good trip, but unfortunately the combination of Kynzie not having a nap, the heat and the fact that most of the animals seemed to be hiding, I'm hoping next time will be better. She sure loves animals!

Playing Kitchen

Since getting it for her birthday Kynzie has spent at least two hours every day "playing kitchen". She places a variety of food on a plate and gives it to somebody, saying "dinner's ready!" She has such an imagination.

Handsome Man

Our little man weighs 10 lbs 4 oz! He had a doctor's appointment today and while he isn't gaining quite as much weight as anybody would like him to, he's healthy as can be! He's hitting all his milestones at the correct (adjusted) age, maybe even a bit sooner! What a little trooper we've been blessed with!

Kynzie's 2nd Birthday Party

Before we went to her party, all the kids enjoy the slide Kynz got for her birthday.

The lucky little girl that she is, Kynzie celebrated her birthday twice (although she only had cake one of those times). Here's her celebration at Grandma and Grandpa Hargis' house.

She loves balloons.

"Check out the rad glasses Great Uncle Gary and Great Aunt Lisa gave me!"

Among other things, she got a tickle-me-elmo.

Kynzie's favorite present by far was this kitchen. I have never seen her play with one toy for so long. The little girl who loves food couldn't be swayed to come to the dinner table she was having so much fun. She likes to serve food to everybody and offers coffee in a teacup.

Two Already!

It's hard to believe that two years have gone by. The little girl who one year ago was just learning to run and climb and only saying one word is now a seasoned runner and climber with a vocabulary so large it's hard to put a number on it. She can count to 10 and knows almost all her colors and basic shapes. But she's still the same girl she was a year ago. She is still adventurous, independent, loving and silly. She's still our Kynzie. Just a little bigger! Can you believe she weighs 32 lbs? What an arm full!

Kynzie had a blast opening presents. Mommy and Daddy got her a Caillou book (her favorite cartoon), a backpack and a few other things. Her big birthday surprise was a playhouse and a slide outside. After she finished opening all her gifts she said "Mommy, more presents please."

Playdate

 DSCN1527

Kynzie really enjoys playing with our neighbor Jonathan, or as she calls him “Joman” He’s almost exactly a year older than her, but they play very well together.

“Hmm…what kind of trouble can we cause?”

“Okay, you stamp, I’ll color”

Ryker slept right through all the playing chaos!
