Family At The Park

051

Kynz did a good job of holding Ryan’s hand until after he held her while crossing the street.

052

Daddy and Kynzie on the swing.

053

Kynzie had a look on her face and for a minute I thought she was actually going to attempt climbing this.

054

Crazy hair on the slide!

The Zoo

We took a trip to the zoo today, thinking it would be fun for Kynzie. She did have fun but unfortunately we went too close to nap time. She ended up falling asleep before we left.

041

She enjoyed looking at the fish in this dome.

042

She likes it when Daddy shows her things. She reached for him every time I tried to hold her.

043

Her favorite part of the day was without a doubt the petting zoo. She got really excited!

044

She actually gave it a hug at one point.

047

Kynzie loves animals!

049

This lion is a new addition to the Oregon Zoo, a part of the newly-opened exhibit “Predators of The Serengeti”. Did you know that lions sleep 20 hours per day?

Kynzie In A Basket

Kynzie thinks it’s fun to crawl into things, including this wicker basket.

The Swifts

Every evening at sunset in September during their migration south, Swifts, which are insect eating birds, roost in a chimney at an elementary school in northwest Portland. They all flood into the chimney at the same time, and it is quite a sight to see!

003

Kynzie was eating a cracker and thought it was really funny to rub into Daddy’s hair!

005

“Ahahaha! I got you Daddy!”

006

Ryan was trying to point Kynzie’s attention towards the birds (which aren’t visible in this picture).

013

A hawk was swarming the birds looking to score a good meal. A swarm of swifts would chase him off while the others flew away. He finally decided to hang out on the chimney and we were pretty sure he succeeded in his mission.

018

A little difficult to see but if you look closely you can see the birds tunneling into the chimney.

021

The next group circling around.

023

It was past pie’s bedtime. Sleepy!

Playtime at The Park & Daddy Snuggles

005

Kynzie loves the slide. See her hands? She was signing “more”. I think she would’ve gone down the slide 100 times!

007

“Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” She’s finally able to go down the slide all by herself. If you set her at the top, she’ll push herself down.

013

And she still thinks the swings are hilarious.

021

Our little climber loves to climb up the play structure.

022

She thought the tic tac toe board was fun to turn. (And so did this other little girl)

027

After an exhausting day at the park Kynzie needed to lay down, and Daddy’s chest was the perfect place to do it.

Silly Face

003

Kynzie makes silly faces when she eats food that she likes.

Family Picnic

We took sandwiches to the park for an early dinner and after we ate Kynzie enjoyed some playtime.

076

Kynzie (still) loves the grass.

079

She found this beach ball and had fun handing it to Mommy & Daddy.

084

After exploring the water it was necessary to change clothes.

085

“I love riding on Daddy’s shoulders!”

087

She thinks the swing is soooo hilarious!

090

Kynzie thinks that slides are for climbing up.

091

Daddy showed her the right way to play on the slide.

092

She’s still trying to grasp the concept of holding hands while walking. She’s normally resistant because she wants to run every which way.

Grape Tomatoes

Kynzie loves grape tomatoes. Any tomatoes for that matter. It seems to be one of her very favorite foods. I think she would be content eating nothing but that. The first time I gave her half pieces of grape tomatoes she would eat the whole thing. But she soon figured out that the middle is where all the good stuff is. So now she will suck the middle out, and leave the skin on her tray. And when the meal is finished, you can bet that Kynzie is absolutely covered in red juice and little seeds!

A Hot Day At The Park

It was warm today. Although the high only reached about 85, humidity was at over 50%. The heat called for a trip to some water. One of the parks nearby has a little wading pool. It was so sticky and hot outside that I didn't want to fight about getting a swimsuit on and off of her. She seemed to enjoy the water but wouldn't stay in it for very long. The water was very cold, like that of hose water, but was so refreshing. She just wanted to run around! I took a video of her adventures but am having difficulty uploading it, so hopefully it will be soon to follow.

Blueberry Face

"Daddy made us fresh blueberry pancakes and I have to hurry and eat them up fast!"

"Yummy!!!"

"I looovveeee blueberry pancakes!"

Oatmeal!

Kynzie loves oatmeal. Plain with just a touch of cinnamon and she's a happy camper! She loves it so much that she actually gets mad when it's gone! And even with Mommy's help she still manages to get it all over her face.

Children's Museum

We had a fun trip to the Portland Children's Museum today! Their newly reopened "Baby Garden" was pretty neat. It's a little pricey though so we will probably wait to go back for a few years when she can really enjoy it.

Kynzie and Kiev really liked climbing!

Kynzie seemed to be examining this yellow block.

Her favorite thing of course, was the book shelf. And she's not shy! She kept taking books to other parents around "asking" them to read to her.

For now, Kynzie seems to be good at sharing. Her and Kiev like to pass things back and forth.

She really liked the fish tank!

At the grocery store Kynzie found herself a pretend mango.

Too young to build but not too young to play with these wooden pieces!

Checkin' out her pretty self in the mirror at the theater!

Mommy & Baby all played out!
