We went to Steve & Jen's house and Kynzie had a good time. There were lots of toys and Jen even brought out pots and pans and tupperware for Kynzie to play with in the kitchen.
"I want more food!!"
Kynz liked her cousin Morgan!
I got to hold both my little cousins at once! Two of them is about the same weight as Kynzie.
Kynzie had a blast at Disneyland! Her favorite activity was riding Pirates of The Carribean. Ryan was holding her, and Uncle Bart was sitting next to them. Throughout the entire ride, she kept hitting Bart and then pointing at things, as if trying to say "Woah! Did you see that?!" She also really enjoyed the fireworks at the end of the night.
The girls getting ready for a long day.
Kynzie was excited to start our day at the park!
While the rest of us went on Space Mountain, Bart was designated to Kynzie duty. She sure loved her Uncle Bart! We also learned that she knows how to drink out of a straw after Bart bought her a juice box and she just drank it!
See us in the background on the Teacups? Ryan insisted on waking Kynzie to take her on this ride, but since she was half asleep I don't think she enjoyed it as much as she would have.
California Adventures sure was crowded!
We saw Sulley!
While everybody else was riding Soarin' Over California Ryan, Kynzie and I enjoyed a scoop of ice cream. Kynzie thought it was quite the treat!
She was thrilled to be out of arms and the stroller for a bit!
She thought this balloon that Brita got was awfully neat!
Getting a first class view of the fireworks on Daddy's shoulders. She clapped at all the appropiate times!
Kynzie's friend Kiev had a big jungle-themed birthday party today! In her bag of favors, Kynzie got some animal crackers and some crayons. And a very neat safari hat!
Kynzie loves riding on Daddy's shoulders!
It was time for pin-the-tail on the lion, and since Kynzie wasn't interested, I put it on for her....but then I was told that was cheating, so...
Can you believe Kynzie is one?! Time really does fly, and my oh my the changes that happen in that first year of life. A year ago today I was (even more) sleep deprived, overwhelmed, grateful, overjoyed and completely amazed while staring into the eyes of a motionless, tiny infant. Today I am chasing around a busy, climbing, running, talking, curious toddler. Kynzie's personality shines through more and more with each day, and she has so far proved to be an independent, adventurous, loving, silly and outgoing little one. Motherhood hasn't been exactly as I had anticipated. It has definitely been the most challenging thing I've ever done, the thing that has required the most patience. But it has also been the most rewarding. Cheers to one year survived with sanity in tact! I can't wait to see what the years to come have to offer.
Kynzie sure loved this ball popper from Nana!
After the festivities at home, we went to Grandma & Grandpa Hargis house to continue Kynzie's birthday celebration. She had 5 grandmas and 3 grandpas there!
Kynzie's cake- the big one was for the adults to eat- and the cupcake was for her- see how it matches?
Kynzie loved nibbling on this ear of corn during dinner. But most of all she loved the chicken, as usual- she's mommy's little carnivore.
Even after the first present at home our little birthday princess still didn't quite understand the concept of unwrapping presents- but she sure liked the things inside!
Mommy & Daddy gave Kynzie a book for her birthday and she immediately insisted that Daddy read it to her.
Grandma & Grandpa gave Kynzie this pretty engraved cup & utensil set- a tradition in the Hargis family I learned.
