Kynzie is getting so good at getting her feet. Today, Ryan had her sitting up on his chest and she slowly slumped over. He said that as soon as she saw her foot, straight in her mouth it went! Everything is going in her mouth....And she's a drooler!

Shake, Rattle & Roll!
I was so excited when I bought this rattle for her when I was pregnant- I thought it was the coolest toy in the world! And now she can play with it! Her eye coordination is getting really good. Watch how well she follows the rattle!

Crying, Sleepy Baby
Tonight marked the beginning of our newly imposed bedtime routine. 7 p.m. is now going to mark the commencement of bath time, a massage with lotion, pajamas, nursing, and then sleep. I am the queen of late nights and afternoon starts no more, for Kynzie's sake. Off to a bad start, tonight's routine began at 7:20. After happily nursing, Kynzie took a bath. And as normal, she threw both of her feet off the sides of the net and into the water. So cute! Bath time was all smiles. After her bath, I laid her on her blanket and quietly spoke to her while massaging her with lotion. And then on went the pajamas. And then just as planned, she nursed. Everything was going great! But the instant we put her in her crib to sleep, she thought it was play time. Shortly after play time was over, she began exhibiting those classic sleepy signs, and oh boy, was she fighting sleep! We tried giving her a bottle...the times that Ryan gets to feed her are few and far between, and sometimes, Daddy needs that feeding-bonding time too. She wasn't having the bottle. She wanted nothing to do with it. I swear she could smell me! After nearly an hour of fussing, I finally let her nurse. She wasn't hungry- she was nursing purely for the comfort. So I nursed her, held her, loved her, cuddled her, finally got her to sleep, and put her in her swing- one of her favorite places. Well, there's always tomorrow!
Improving Coordination
She grabbed a rattle out of Ryan's hand! She did it multiple times. Her coordination is improving daily!
Notice how much better her little belly button is getting?
P.S: Sorry about my horrible video taking skills!

Naptime Achievement
I feel like I've climbed Mt. Everest. I got Kynzie to take a nap in her crib!!! The trend lately has been that she either naps in my arms or her swing. The second I would lay her down in her crib her pretty little eyes would open wide up. So this time, instead of picking her up when she started to squirm, I let her squirm for a minute, and she fell back asleep. I had to take the picture without a flash so I didn't disturb her...
Daddy & Kynzie Bathtime
Ryan successfully overcame his fear of bathing Kynzie yesterday. One of the first times he & I attempted to bathe her by ourselves at home, it turned into a big ordeal. Kynzie wasn't feeling well, resulting in her screaming during the bath. Kitty Ivy hopped up on the kitchen counter and swatted at Ryan. Since this experience, Ryan hasn't been too keen on the idea of bath time. It took me a while to get over it too. We had been sticking to sponge baths for the most part. I got over my fear one day while Ryan was at work. After than, he was insistent that bath time was a "Mommy thing." Last week, while I was at work, I insisted that he give her a bath. When I got home, I could tell that he had bathed her, but not her head. He hadn't wanted to get her head wet! So yesterday, with supervision from me, he bathed her, head-to-toe and finally realized that it's not that bad!!!

Kynzie Update
Kynzie's getting bigger by the day! At her last doctor's appointment, on the 2nd, she weighed 13lbs, and was 23 and 3/4 inches. She's in the 90th percentile for her weight, and the 95th for her height. Dr. Kocher said she's just perfect, but of course, you already knew that.
She's trying so hard to crawl! About 2 weeks ago, she mastered rolling from her back to her tummy, and it's near impossible to keep her on her back anymore. It's funny, because she used to hate being on her tummy. She always got frustrated that she couldn't move, and after a few minutes of it, she would start to whine. But now, she loves it!

She's getting really loud too, and the more positive reactions we give her, the louder she gets. She's gotten really good at making vowel sounds: "Aaaaaaaaaa" and "Oooooooo" Sometimes she even lets out a loud screeching "Eeeeee" sound! She's getting so animated!
She's able to hold on to rattles now, and she even gives them a little shake sometimes....She really likes her set of pink and purple baby keys!
